Homemade flat Bread”Pizza”


Flat Bread Pizza starts with a fresh home made flat bread,

  So Lets get started ,

Flat Bread Homemade

1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour/you can blend with wheat flour.
1/2 tsp salt and pepper.
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup warm water (this is a must)
1/2 tsp active dry yeast (is optional it of course will make your bread rise.)
Blend all ingredients to proper dough consistency
allow to rest for about 15 minutes, portion using proper dough handling methods,
roll and place on heated case iron skillet or grill.

this almost exactly like I make tortillas,
replace olive oil with lard /or veggie oil, no yeast, just all purpose flour the rest is the same.

Use your basic Pizza sauce and top it as you please,

INGREDIENTS

  • Pizza Sauce
  • 1 can 28 oz. Tomato Puree
  • 1 can (28-oz) whole peeled tomatoes, in juice
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon Basil/or 3 to 4 Fresh Basil leaves
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 whole Garlic Clove
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Chopped Fresh flat leaf Parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 small Fine diced Yellow onion
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oil and add onions till soft
  2. Add tomato puree and chopped whole tomatoes, just heat, add balance of ingredients,
  3. Add seasoning as desired, bring to boil and simmer about 20 minutes to blend all ingredients.
  4. Texture should be thick.

When Building Pizza, use a nice melting cheese, sauce does have to simmer a long time like sauce for pasta, keep the texture thick.
